Whats the lowest temprature that mallard ducks can survive in?

Question: Whats the lowest temprature that mallard ducks can survive in? Im asking this because i have a mallard duck but im not sure if i should buy it a heater? The duck is like a couple of months old. Shes outdoors because shes really pooped up my rug haha and she seems to like it out there better. I live in washington.

If your temps dip below freezing your duck will be quite unhappy. This is why they fly south for the winter. I would consider buying one of those little soft cat cozy thingies and placing right next to the house. If you feel this is not enough, go ahead and place a small heater in the area so that if she is cold, she can realize that this is a warm safe place to be. If you feed her in a specific manner, try doing so near this place or even in the cat cozy so that she gets used to it. You might even consider getting her a male mallard. that way they can keep one another warm.
