I have female mallard ducks that are a couple months old. Will they ever fly?

Question:

Answer: Yes they will, if they ever need a reason to. Domestic ducks do not migrate, so they only reason a pet Mallard would fly is if it's in danger. Wait another month or so. Are you sure they are Mallards though? Rouen ducks look exactly the same as Mallards, unless of course you know what to look for. I made this comparison chat a while back to help someone else. They thought they had a female Mallard that would only fly a few yards at a time. After looking at the chart, they saw that they didn't have Mallards after all. Rouens have smaller wings and tails, and larger bodies, so of course they can barely fly (if they're able at all). http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l92/DemonicRocker13/duckcomparision.jpg Hope that helps ya! :] - Becky
