Question: My hamster had babies and the "runt" is pure white. Is it rare to have one?
Answer: no i don't think there rare they just form because of a mutation in the genes of hamsters. Ive got 4 syrian hamsters, i bread my oldest one a couple of weeks ago and she ate all her off spring so in not breeding her again. I bread my other female hamster who was 4 months old to a 4 month old ivory white colour hamster who was a male with red eyes,and then she had eight babies 2 out of 8 were white like the dad. In some hamster litters there will always be a white one in the litter even though none of the parents were white. Hope it helps
