What is the cost of shell reloading?

Question: I am wondering when it gets right down to it, how much will I have to shell out to start reloading my own .280 Ross shells. If that is a bad idea then just say so and give me a quote for a .303 brit. or .270 reloading setup. Is that first post only for handgun shells, or is it rifle too? I am looking for info on handloading rifle ammunitions.

Answer: You can get a pretty good set-up to reload for a couple of different calibers for around $200.00 for tools and another $100.00 or so for componants. Or you can go nuts and drop a Couple of thousand easy. If you are going to reload for savings and you intend to reload for a long time in your shooting sport, go ahead and get the best that you can afford. You can also add to your set-up as your go, but for 2 or 3 calibers I would get the Rock Chucker from RCBS a good set of scales, an up to date reloading manual RCBS dies and the brass, bullets, powder and primers of your choice, spending around $400.00. Over time this will pay for itself if you shoot a lot. If you are not shooting much your investment will be for quality ammo more than savings. Good Luck and enjoy the sport.
