Question: I absolutley hate the damn xt trigger shifters i have on my bike now, and im looking for a set of high end twist shifters that are shimano compatable (9spd). Is sram the only company making twist shifters anymore, or are there any less known companies making them? OR, does anyone know if they make something that will legenthen the shifts on x0 twsit shifters, so they can be shimano compatable?
Answer: As far as twist shifters go Sram seems to have that market cornered. As far as being compatible Sram is compatible to most any of the shimano derailleurs or cassettes. I have the Sram X-gen and X9 derailleurs on the Catrike and run the Sram Rockets on both the Rans and Bacchetta with shimano 105 derailleurs and they work great. The Sram X.0 twist has to be or should be paired with the X.0 or X9 derailleur to work correctly due to it's 1:1 compatabilty As far as trying lengthen your shift I would suggest going to good bike shop and ask a good mechanic if that can even be done.
