Breakaway nylon halters - any good?

Question: I never turn horses out in nylon halters and my horse has a really decent leather one on. However his buddy tends to grab the strap under the chin and leads him around by it so it's now stretched and chewed. It's just a matter of time before it snaps. Saw that BMB do breakway nylon halters and wondered if they are any good and more importantly safe? Thanks Lisa Just to clarify, I mean the nylon halters that have the leather pieces designed to break if the horse gets hung up. Wondering if they really do break?

Answer: Good & Safe. Same safety benifits of a leather halter, but more durable with less maintanace. I do love the leather ones though.
