scale map!?!! help!?

Question: what is 'scale' in mapmaking ??? wht would be the advantage of having a map that is to scale over one that is not?? plz help! thx alot!

Answer: A scale can either be in form of a linear scale or one that is represented in the form of words. Having a map that is used as a scale for one that does not have a scale does not serve any purpose. In fact, it only makes the construction of maps more tedious. The fastest way is to simply express the scale of the map in words or in on using a line that shows the conversion of measurements from one unit to another.
