How was Hurricane Katrina different from the Hurricane Georges?

Question: I've got to do an essay for my work and I am quite stuck on what to say. I know how hurricanes are formed, but I don't know the answer to the actually question! Anyone who can help me I'll be most grateful. Thank You.

Answer: Well, I lived in the same house for both storms, so I can tell you this much: Katrina was a mostly water damage storm. The Mississippi Gulf Coast received over 30 feet of water on the beachfront, and the water pushed into rivers, which pushed into creeks... so on until even the ditches flooded. Georges was all wind. There was some flooding, I'm sure, but nothing too severe. Katrina kicked butts, sat down for a break, and then kicked butts some more. It was immensely damaging. Georges made a 20-minute mess to clean up. A branch here, a shingle there. Not much. I'll always remember the date of Katrina, as I'm sure everyone on this coast will. 8-29-05. Um, Georges... was that 1998? '97? I can't even remember the year. Georges did a lot more damage to non-US areas than Katrina did, and Katrina did a lot more damage to US areas than Georges. Katrina- the power was out for three weeks. Georges- the power was out for three days. That's about all I know. I was only six or seven when Georges hit. Wait... '99? I don't know. I do remember something else. On a barrier island out here, we used to just have Camille Cut. Georges made another shallow cut casually named Georges Cut. It's been naturally filled in by now, though. If you need any help with getting Katrina facts, I can help you out.
